About the Item
This antique small chest of drawers was crafted in the Edo Era (Tenp 1830-1844).
The aged urushi (Japanese lacquer), worn away in places, enhances the pieces unique character and embodies the wabi-sabi aesthetic. On the side of one drawer, the inscription “Tenp 13″ (1842) remains, offering a glimpse into its historical origins.
Adding to its uniqueness, one drawer features a round ring pull, distinct from the others. This rare detail reflects the individuality and history embedded in the piece over time. Beyond its function as storage, it is a piece to be appreciated for its antique charm and timeless appeal.
As a vintage piece, minor scratches and marks may be present, each adding to its unique charm and the story it tells over time.
