About the Item
An unusual parcel gilt mirrored mosaic tile wall panel is amazing. It is vintage and art deco style, produced mid-century. Our appraiser says it has a Continental feel, but we are not certain exactly where it was produced. The mirrored tile is cut into tiny geometric pieces, which were then arranged in foliate patterns alternated with scrolls and other decorative shapes. Each tile appears to be in place, and there is quality to the craftsmanship.
This is a versatile wall ornament that brings a ray of light and silver gilt to a hallway or to a room as a focal point. The back of the panel is framed with a layer of wood. The rectangular gilt ground inset panel hangs vertically, but could be fitted to hang in the landscape position. It measures 48 inches by 22 inches. This was acquired at an estate sale in 2021 that included many collectible pieces of art deco style and period objects.Dimensions: Height: 48 in (121.92 cm)Width: 22 in (55.88 cm)Depth: 3 in (7.62 cm)Style: Art Deco (In the Style Of)Materials and Techniques: Cut Glass,Gilt,MosaicPlace of Origin: UnknownPeriod: Mid-20th CenturyDate of Manufacture: 1960sCondition: GoodWear consistent with age and use.
