View in original languageStunning and impressive neoclassical clock from the Louis XVI period, France, late 18th century.
The case is made of richly chiseled and ormolu-gilded bronze, resting on a black marble base.
The large mechanism is sandwiched between two lion heads; a neoclassical urn is placed at the top of the clock.
The mechanism, entirely original, is signed “Pinta jeune Paris”; it has a silk thread suspension and chime at the hours and half hours with a bronze bell.
Beautiful original gilding in very good condition.
