Plant Care

Red Oaks are relatively low-maintenance once established. Young trees benefit from regular watering and mulching to retain moisture. Prune dead or damaged branches in late winter. Monitor for common oak diseases and pests, though these trees are generally resistant to most issues. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring if needed.

Planting Instructions

Select a planting location with ample space for mature growth, away from structures and power lines. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and as deep as the container. Remove the tree from its container, loosen the roots, and place it in the hole at the same depth it was growing. Backfill with soil, water thoroughly, and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the trunk.
