About the Item
An original Art Deco drinks cabinet from the 1930s. This item has elegant proportions with its curved shelves and dazzling walnut veneer, but even more than that, what particularly draws you in is the asymmetric design of the cabinet and the composition of the thinner, almost floating shelves against the solid shape of the cabinet and its door.
The designer and producer of the cabinet is unfortunately unknown. However the quality of the materials, perfect attention to every detail and overall craftmanshift of the whole piece indicates that it is likely to be product of the UP Brno Factory where the iconic architect Jindrich Halabala worked as an art director.
This cabinet is in great vintage condition. Recent restoration has fully revived the extremely rich colour of the entire piece, showing off the beautiful patterns on all surfaces. The entire piece has been hand finished by Shellac and Nitro varnishes in order to achieve a greater gloss finish.Dimensions: Height: 26.38 in (67 cm)Width: 27.17 in (69 cm)Depth: 17.72 in (45 cm)Style: Bauhaus (In the Style Of)Materials and Techniques: Walnut,Lacquered,VeneerPlace of Origin: Czech RepublicPeriod: 1930-1939Date of Manufacture: Circa 1930Condition: GoodRefinished.
