About the Item
Silk and cotton embroidery create beautiful depictions of various birds in their native fauna on an embroidered panel. It dates back to the Art Deco period. The patterns and palette are appealing and produced to perfection, with skill on cotton and silk. It is finished with calligraphy to the upper left corner.
A bird of paradise perched in a tree forms the dominant figure in the lower third of the panel. Two silver and white cranes perched above appear to position themselves for a better look at the bird of paradise below. There are nine birds in all. This piece is ready for installation.
The panel is framed inside a more modern frame that is matted and measures 25 wide by 36 inches tall.
Dressed to the rear with hanging wire for ease of mounting. This is a fascinating vintage embroidered panel.Dimensions: Height: 26.5 in (67.31 cm)Width: 18.5 in (46.99 cm)Depth: 2 in (5.08 cm)Style: Art Deco (Of the Period)Materials and Techniques: Silk,Embroidered,Hand-Crafted,Hand-Woven,NeedlepointPlace of Origin: Korea, Republic ofPeriod: Early 20th CenturyDate of Manufacture: 1930sCondition: GoodThis is a beautiful piece that is ready for installation.Seller Location: Lomita, CAReference Number: 1stDibs: LU6651243020032
