Antique French Cabinet Cupboard Brittany Breton Carved Oak TALL Ship Spindle Trim.

Direct from the Brittany region of France, another beautiful antique cabinet or cupboard, with gorgeous hand carvings throughout.
This cabinets tall, yet very slender profile, is a perfect fit for so many places throughout your home, and its design allows for maximum storage with a full size drawer above the generous storage behind the full length carved door.

NOTE: The style and design are true to the Celtic roots of the Brittany region of France, which was heavily dependent on fishing and maritime, so the hand carvings are noted for spindled ships wheels and symbolic use of men and women in traditional Celtic dress to represent their strong work ethic, piety, and the enjoyment of life.

The traditional Breton carved features in this cabinet include carved feather trim and large carved Celtic circular designs to the front door panel and on both sides. (Always a sign of quality when carvings are present of the cabinet sides)! Amidst the carvings, the large door also features an open panel with ships wheel spindles.
Traditionally antique furniture from the Brittany region of France had a dark finish and was frequently carved from oak or chestnut wood. This cabinet is also well built by craftsmen of the period, c1899.
