About the Item

Rare size, mid to late 19th century wall mirror.

This very narrow mirror in Holland is known as a ‘damspiegel’. We cannot find the translation for this word, but these mirrors used to hang between windows in stately homes. This particularly rare and narrow example is made in the Louis Seize Style. The beige-white painted frame is made of plaster upon wood. However, the ribbon atop and the ‘flowery curtain motifs’ at the bottom are made of a (cast) metal alloy. The plaster covered, white painted wooden mirror frame is a little dirty, there are signs of weathering in the mirror and the flowery metal alloy curtain at the bottom shows signs of wear. However, this antique mirror is a rare sight to see, practical to use and highly decorative. We have priced it extra sharp and with perfect packing and worldwide delivery in 4 days included, this, again, is great value for money.

Maximum height x width x depth: 48.4 x 8.4 x 1.4 inches.
Height x width of the mirror itself: 43.9 x 5.3 inches.

We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).
