Plant Care
Blue Sargent Juniper is remarkably easy to maintain once established. This hardy evergreen requires minimal pruning, typically only to remove dead or damaged branches. Water deeply but infrequently to encourage deep root growth. While drought-tolerant, regular watering during the first growing season helps establish a strong root system. Apply a slow-release fertilizer in early spring if desired, though this juniper typically thrives without additional feeding.
Planting Instructions
Plant in spring or fall for best results. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and at the same depth. Remove the plant from its container and gently loosen the roots. Place in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill with soil, water thoroughly, and apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the plant, keeping it away from the stem. Space plants 4-6 feet apart to allow for mature spread.
