About the Item
A delightful French trumeau style mirror, Louis XVI period (18th century). The painted and giltwood frame has a pierced crest mounted on top with dainty flowers and vines that drape from the pediment to the upper corners of the frame. Surrounded with a beaded edge, the original mirror plate is covered with an incredible pattern of foxing, and some loss of foil that partially obscures the reflection. At the base, two wide feet elevate and protect the frame. Strung with picture wire on the wire, ready to hang in your interior. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition.
