About the Item
A tall and impressive 19th century Napoleon III rectangular mantle mirror in a wood and gilt stucco frame, surmounted by an imposing pediment of cherubs and dolphins flanking an oval medallion. The frame, with its continuous floral haut-relief mouldings, has stepped corners and retains its nicely worn original gilt finish, while a delicate string-of-pearls moulding outlines the perimeter of the bevelled glass. There are a few small areas of imperfection, as would be expected with a mirror of this age.Dimensions: Height: 68.12 in (173 cm)Width: 38.78 in (98.5 cm)Depth: 5.52 in (14 cm)Style: Louis XVI (In the Style Of)Materials and Techniques: Giltwood,Mirror,BeveledPlace of Origin: FrancePeriod: 19th CenturyDate of Manufacture: circa 1880Condition: GoodWear consistent with age and use.
