Fantastic subject and easy to live with. Written on the reverse in pen is “Viking Grave from the Stone Age at highest point in the landscape”. And, another stretcher also reads “Viking Grave from Stone Age”… in pencil just in case it wasn’t clear enough the first time. This Scandinavian Modern en plein air painting is signed Inge Blomqvist. She died after a long career in 2010 and is well known for the 1970’s landscapes, most of which are framed in this typical faux distressed thin gold frame, and for large scale floral still life compositions. But, this is one of the best subjects I have encountered and it’s certainly going to be a conversation point in your home or office!
